Mintaur Mug Desert Boots

Well, I think it is time that I accept a fashionable defeat. As much as I have been resisting the fact that boots are going to be making a trendy appearance for the upcoming fall / winter 2009 season, I need to accept that it is a reality. I am not sure why I have never been the prototypical boot fan, maybe it is more of a colder climate thing? I live in Southern California where there really isn’t a legitimate need for a boot for anything other than aesthetic appeal. I first started noticing more and more boots popping up from designers for the upcoming season as companion pieces to the fall / winter 2009 hunting inspired trend that I have been highlighting the past few months. I actually posted a pair of Mastermind Japan Suede Workboots a while back, which signaled my acceptance that boots are here to stay for at least this winter. My second venture into the land of boots are these Mintaur Mug Desert Boots that come in three of the classic boot colorways: brown, sand, and tan. The fur lining, coupled with the leather lacing and contrasting white stitching on the sole makes for a great winter boot. I can totally picture a late night knock on the door of George Hamilton‘s home. The locks unhinge, the door creaks open, and a robed Mr. Hamilton slowly makes his way into the light. A cloud of smoke exists through the breezy night and you can still see the orange embers of the cigar in his right hand which magically is also wrapped around a warm Cognac snifter. As you peer over the well dressed man of leisure’s robe you can hear the soft sounds of Dean Martin echoing through the vast space behind him and subtly as you look the man over these boots must be what you would see on his feet. The sartorial man’s fuzzy bunny slippers.
