All,
I wouldn’t disenchant any of you, but Tie-ups came definitively first.
Fedaboa is an imitation made from some Dutch guys who have seen Tie-ups in Italy and decided to copy it.
Apart from this, if you really have had both on hands you can’t say they are truly comparable.
Fedaboa materials (plastic and rubber) are poorest and finishing reflects the fact it is made in china (Tie-ups is made in Italy).
To be completely honest Tie-ups have had some buckles’ issues at the very beginning (the wings was truly fragile), but it has been quickly substituted and now it works properly. If you still have a broken buckle write an e-mail to them (check the web-site www.tie-ups.it and find out the e-mail) and they will replace it: It happened to me and they immediately recognize the issue and replaced the entire buckle.
Going back to the buckles, even the idea to provide separate buckles units belong to Tie-ups. They did it first, and then they have been immediately copied by Fedaboa people. Creative people here belong to Tie-ups…. This is a matter of fact!
Apart from this the design is truly different and from my perspective there is no competition between an Italian design and a Dutch one (but I’m Italian, therefore I might be not impartial ….):
What else? Let’s buy what you like!
Best

I am all the way in South-Africa and do own a Tie-Ups and Several Fedaboa belts. I do have to compliment Fedaboa. They give me the option of dressing each belt up that it suits my outfit, what a win for any Lady. The quality and execution is also way better on Fedaboa. And I have purchased a Silver and Gold Buckle. It changed my life!

Yeah, the belts have been around the web. They even made Kanye's Blog too. I wish there were more U.S. based retailers. I would love to sell the belts in the store that we are working on here!! Soon we will be selling many of the products we review. Thanks for commenting.

Yes, I have one as well. I met the actual designer of Fedaboa at Project 2009 in Vegas. He had the yellow belt on with the chrome colored buckle. I really want the chrome buckle. It looks so cool. However, I contacted them over the website, and it will be coming out end of summer. I need to have it. If anyone sees that b 4 me. Contact me asap. AHHHHHHHHHHH! Want it so bad.

I'm really liking the yellow colored belt. I think it is time I pulled the trigger on this one. Anyone have pictures of one of the belts that aren't stock photos?

Mikey, you are absolutely right. I bought tie-ups at Nordstroms, and coming from a family that has been in plastic manufacturing, I first thought their product was good but too expensive for the material. Exactly like yours my buckle broke off.
My friend who is a stylist in LA told me to buy Fedaboa, and I ordered it from YRB, and what a difference. Love the color combination, called them up in Holland, and they were so helpful, and nice. Told me that I can get it over www.fedaboa.com
So, now I have 6 of their color belts, and 4 extra buckles. Their campaign is pretty cool as well. I am wearing them everywhere, I think I got to sell all my other designer belts on EBay now:) Those combinations are addictive.

Really? That is interesting. I have only seen the Tie-Ups version in person. Is the Fedaboa a little wider? for some reason I get that feeling from the images. It is pretty cool how Fedaboa sells the buckles separately so you can mix and match. With Tie-Ups you have to buy the whole belt in order to mix. Thanks for visiting!!
