Of all the Hype Means Nothing t-shirts that have been released to date, this one may be the one I actually buy. The French brand’s latest offering is a heavy hitter, literally, featuring the likeness of the iconic Muhammad Ali. As with all the previous designs in the series, the bee stinging boxer recreates an iconic pair of glasses with his hands – in this case the frames are said to be the equally iconic Ray-Ban Wayfarers. Also, this is the first time we managed to get our nubby little Internet paws on a good picture of the small logo pendant that comes with the t-shirts.

American Apparel Basics

You can never have too many basics. For layering, for casual wear, for whatever you need them for. Personally, I have always been a sucker for anything soft. Naturally nearly everything inside American Apparel appeals to me for this reason alone. Thanks in large part to Mary’s wholesale connection I was able to pick up a sizable amount of product for a not so sizable amount of money. Two hoodies, two pairs of boxer briefs, two sweater vests, a deep v-neck shirt, a super soft crew neck t-shirt, a “wife beater” t-shirt, and a light hoody. Ironically enough this entire order started off in a quest for a light, colorful hoody that I could layer under either a denim jacket or a blazer. Black wasn’t my first option obviously, but it works.

So after David Beckham was tapped for the last Hype Means Nothing t-shirt, we were all left a bit uneasy about who would be next to take over the throne. Only one man was so deserving, so bold, with enough swagger to don the next pair of ”hand glasses” and that man is Homer J. Simpson. Not only did Homer step up to the plate with a sexy pose that gives you a glimpse at his famed “one ab,” but he also is repping a pair of 1989 Oakley Frogskins hand glasses. Way to do it big Homer. David Beckham has got nothing on you sir.

Finally, I can capitalize on David Beckham’s good looks. The Japanese brand that symbolizes putting a contemporary twist on pop and cultural icons like Kanye West, Michael Jackson, Will Smith, The Beatles, The Nortious B.I.G., Pharrell Williams, Jay-Z, and many many more is back with its latest installment. The famous football player is seen here wearing what has become the standard Hype Means Nothing ”hand glasses” to pay dividends to the future in an attempt to say that he’ll be watching. Kanye’s Closet Charity Auction

“Tis the season of giving folks!” So, to keep true to that seasonal motto Kanye West and streetwear retailer Karma Loop are teaming up on a charity auction all profits from which will go to benefit the Kanye West Foundation. The Kanye West Foundation provides opportunities for young people to engage in the creative and performing arts, and to develop the tools to remain in school and graduate. As a permanent tribute to Dr. Donda West’s extraordinary legacy and passion for education and children, the Foundation partners with schools and community organizations to provide under-served youth access to music production and academic support programs that will enable them to unleash their creative ability and reach their full potential. The auction serves to both raise money for the Foundation and to help launch Karma Swap, Karma Loop’s new online auction site. So, what’s up for auction? First is the Kanye West Foundation Loop Dreams T-Shirt which is a fresh grey t-shirt with the signature Kanye West Foundation Loop Dreams logo. The shirt is one of five that will be autographed by Kanye and also pays homage to Mr. West’s charity performance on June 11th of this year as part of S.H.O.W. at the Chicago Theatre. Mighty Healthy American Psycho T-Shirt

This post is for you Jordan!! I still remember the first time we watched this flick together. Back in 2000 Christian Bale was a relative unknown who played the hell out of Bret Easton Ellis’ Patrick Bateman character in the film adaptation of the bestselling book American Psycho. The movie was sadistically funny in so many ways. Although I am sure McG may insist that Bale was playing himself in light of recent events, I still think that this was the role that put Batman on the radar. Mighty Healthy pays tribute to the cult classic movie with this limited release of an “American Psyco” t-shirt featuring the crazy faced Christian Bale. In the great words of Warren Sapp, “yes zir!”

Bumboo Short Sleeve T-Shirts

As one would expect, you get a lot of press releases when you run a fashion based website like this. One that really caught my eye recently was about a new company named Bumboo. I have always been a fan of layering, particularly with jackets and cardigans. When I started to read about Bumboo, I became more and more excited about the men’s t-shirts they offer. The shirts are described by the company as being “addictively comfortable” made of super lightweight, semi-sheer jersey. But, what really caught my eye was the material used to make the shirts which is a 70% premium bamboo and 30% organic cotton mix. The cut of the shirts were also unique in that they were cut long and sleek, with an open crew neck, and a shirt-tail hem. I took a couple of days to make sure I wasn’t buying the shirts out of impulse and 3 days later I wanted them even more than when I first saw them. Ordered directly from Bumboo my slate grey and white short sleeve t-shirts arrived and I couldn’t be any happier about the purchase. After reading their sizing chart I chose to go with large shirts, which worked out to be a good call if you are like me and prefer a more fitted look. I have included pictures of the shirts in the packages they arrived in, individually unwrapped, being worn alone, and a photo of me wearing my favorite jersey grey cardigan so you can get an idea of how the shirt looks layered. I also took a photo where I wore the white shirt under my cardigan with the slate grey shirt draped over it for some perspective on the colors. The shirts are spectacular and really are addictively comfortable and soft.
