If you haven’t heard of Barbour, then you have been missing out on some pretty stylish and well built jackets. Nike Air Rally “Hiking”

Looking like the little brother to the Nike Air Royal Mid QS “Work Boot” the Swoosh Team has re-skinned their Air Rally silhouette with a strikingly similar motif. Oddly enough; however, it was not given the same moniker of Work Boot and instead dubbed Hiking? But, I digress. The black leather shoe comes complete with the same work boot laces, contrasting white stitching, metal eyelets, and perforated Swoosh. A clean low-top take on a prevailing trend.

Luxury branded sneakers are here for good people. Dior, a name more synonymous with everything high-fashion but sneakers, is back again for the Fall / Winter 2010 season. The brand brings back many of their inaugural silhouettes while introducing some interesting new styles as well. There appears to be a subtle boot aesthetic infused into many of the shapes which falls in line with the other workboot-inspired designs we have seen from the likes of Nike, Adidas, and Vans.

Four simple and neutral sold color options are present for the Fall / Winter 2010 season. I call dibs on one of the two brown variants. Sexy.

Café Habana Malibu x Gourmet Quattro

I will never forget my first trip to New York years ago when I was in college. I was so overwhelmed by the city, the hordes of people, and the towering buildings reaching farther up into the sky than I had ever seen before. On my first day there visiting my friend at NYU we walked over to 17 Pierce Street where I had my first taste of Café Habana. The tiny seemingly overcrowded venue was not only packed full of celebrities sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with regular folk, but the wonderful smell of arroz con pollo sent my olfactory senses into overdrive. The memories are as fond as memories can come, so imagine my delight when I found out that this Memorial Day 2010 Café Habana will be opening a west coast location in Malibu, California. The site will be Malibu’s first solar powered restaurant. Complete with reborn wood benches from New York City’s Coney Island boardwalk and an actual antique bar inside the restaurant from Deadwood, South Dakota riddled with bullet holes. A custom roof top mint garden for mojitos and completely eco-friendly uniforms created by local designers using recycled denim and cotton (i.e. Rogue Territory Denim aprons) are many more unique touches make this a place you have to visit. To commemorate the event Gourmet, who took their name from the culinary world to denote high quality, whipped up 24 pairs of custom 100% cotton canvas Quattro hightop sneakers that are just as drool worthy as the food. Do yourself a favor and try the Cuban Sandwich, it is stupid tasty. Just stupid.

Offspring x Vans Authentic Pack

More than just an example of another fine collaborative effort between English retailer Offspring and Vans, you can learn something from these preliminary pictures of this special Authentic Pack. Please place your seat backs and tray tables in their up right and locked positions kids because you are witnessing some serious sock game. The rule of thumb is “do it big time or don’t do it at all.” Translated loosely for those of you without the Section 8 housing in a ten mile radius that means that if you are going to wear socks do yourself a favor and save the bleach white tube variety for the gym. Opt for something that makes more of a statement like the heather red ones you will note here. Or, if you are truly struggling with the concept or you just have dirty laundry there is always the sock-less option.

New Balance 576 Pub Pack

Oh gumdrops and lollipops! Here comes a look at a sleek and classic new delivery from the folks over at New Balance. This new Pub Pack consists of three 576 model silhouettes dressed fresher than James Bond in 1983′s Octopussy (the Roger Moore era). Based on some popular pub names – The Kings Head (with the possessive apostrophe seemingly optional back in the day, grammar evolves now?), The Red Lion and The Royal Oak, with the pick of shade somehow tied in to the titles. Union Jacks on the heel reinforces that UK identity too – a sequel set with Scampi Fries, bathroom-based flavoured condom machines and the half-naked lady on the peanut display card referenced would be a perfect finale, but these are a very good start indeed. Extra points for referencing our beloved booze culture and throwing in a branded bar towel and beermat.
