When news broke that Madonna was not going to model for Louis Vuitton this season, I was left a bit confused by what seemed like a happy fashion marriage. After all the former ”Queen of Pop” wasn’t shy in boasting her fashionable ties. Those loyal followers may remember Madonna rolled up to “The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and made a statement wearing some Louis Vuittion couture straight from the runway. Well it wasn’t long until it was revealed that Madonna had switched fashion camps and hopped over to Dolce & Gabbana for their Spring / Summer 2010 advertising campaign. The ad campaign, which is said to be inspired by “Italian Neorealism cinema,” shows a very domesticated Madonna washing dishes and preparing food at a dining room table. Literally a complete 180 degree change from the super glamorous relationship she had with the L.V. moniker. Celebrity photographer Steven Klein was tapped for the images on November 6th in New York City as part of a preview editorial in the January 2010 Italian edition of Vanity Fair.
