Wow, this post is going to be spectacular!! One of the most eclectic and cool names in the hotel business, The Standard Hotel, is going retro with the collaborative help of one of the undisputed kings of swimwear, Quiksilver. The results are pure hotness for both men and women combined with some innovative distribution. In celebration of the bold attitudes and bright colors of the boardshort’s “golden era,” Quiksilver has partnered to reissue their original boardshorts from the 70′s and 80′s but with modern fits, fabrics and technology. The Standard Boardshorts by Quiksilver and Quiksilver women’s bikinis will be sold through the first ever boardshort/bikini vending machines located poolside at Standard Hotels. Each pair of boardshorts comes with a handpicked list of addresses corresponding to the must see art, music, food and summer destinations in L.A., Miami, and New York. These “quick tips” city guides were curated and handwritten by legendary skateboarder and Quiksilver Creative Director Natas Kaupas. The bikinis, while arguably not as exciting, feature a 3 button detail, adjustable tie, and a classic shape. So, the good news is that each piece of swimwear comes with its own date idea handwritten in, but the bad news is now you officially have no excuse to skinny dip at The Standard.
