Original Penguin 2009 Holiday Collection

Being responsible for the design of all product lines from clothing to accessories, and for Original Penguin’s corporate image, advertising campaigns and store design cannot be an easy task for the brand’s newly appointed Creative Director Ann Doty Payne. I hope Ann isn’t too stressed out carrying all that responsibility because judging from Original Penguin’s new Holiday 2009 Collection, her first collection for Penguin, she is doing a pretty solid job. The inspiration and concept behind the collection is based off of a story about a man on a cross country road trip that ends in Las Vegas where the women are drop dead gorgeous and the stakes are high. Which, doesn’t sound that different from a trip to my house on any hot summer day. And the sound you just heard was that of my ego causing my head to explode. I am loving that black notch lapel window pane inspired blazer almost as much as I am loving the kickoff party invitation’s vintage Playboy Bunnies.
