Obey x Levi’s F/W 2009 Collection

I’m on the record for not being much of a graphic t-shirt guy these days, but I have to admit that if there is one company putting out a product I like, it has always been Obey. Their shirts have always been soft, slim, and won’t make you look too much like John Gosselin. Shepard Fairey’s Obey clothing brand has collaborated with Levi’s on an upcoming capsule due to hit stores late this month. This marks another collaborative venture from Levi’s, who recently has sourced other notables in the realm of fashion and art. (Robert Geller, Engineered Garments, British art sensation Damien Hirst, and The Andy Warhol Foundation for The Visual Arts just to name a few.) The collection includes various pieces inspired by Fairey’s own experiences with Levi’s denim. Which I thought was a pretty cool take on a project like this one and it adds a rather personal and comfortable feel to the end result. The collection includes two pairs of denim in the 511 and 514 cut, two denim jackets, a flannel shirt and three t-shirts. The Gingham print shirt and the denim jackets are big time if you ask me. Contemporary Obey feel mixed with the timelessness of Levis.
