Kate Spade’s husband, Andy Spade (coincidentally the brother of actor and comic, David Spade), and his companion men’s accessory brand, Jack Spade are branching out. Jack Spade will launch a line of men’s apparel for the fall / winter 2009 season. After nearly a decade with Paul Smith, a shorter stint with Original Penguin, and a few years running his own tailoring-based label in Dublin, Cuan Hanly was appointed vice-president and was charged with the launching of the new line. The line is a mix of classic tailoring and all-American sportswear which highlights both the culture of Jack Spade and Cuan Hanly’s working experience. Coinciding with the new apparel line’s release and to mark its West Coast debut, the label will be taking up temporary residence at the Beverly Hills’ Apartment Number 9 boutique from September 3, 2009 through October 31, 2009.
