H&M N.E.R.D. Shirt

Posted on 31. May, 2009 by bespokeordie in New

Earlier this week I brought you a look at H&M’s Fashion Against AIDS campaign and never being the one to endorse a product that I don’t believe in you knew I was going to do my part.  I had already seen most of the shirts online for the campaign, but I did see a pretty cool offering designed by Yoko Ono in store that I hadn’t seen before.  Other than that I arrived at my local H&M knowing that I was going to pick up the teal N.E.R.D. designed graphic t-shirt.  Typically I don’t really wear t-shirts, but I figured if you are going to start, might as well be for a good cause.  The quality is surprisingly good and the shirt is super soft thanks to the 100% organic cotton.  Here is an iPhone picture of the shirt, my digital camera has seen the last of its days apparently and decided to call it a wrap, so my apologies for the poor quality.

how did you find the fit of the t shirt, i bought the purple one in XS (i’m a girl) and it fits very oddly (and not flattering). I’ve got other guys t shirts which fit fine. im quite sad that it looks so odd…

Hi Danielle, welcome to the site! For me the fit wasn’t that bad. I’m well over six foot. You are right though, the shirts have a slightly longer torso and smaller arm openings. I don’t think H&M has that much experience with fitted t-shirts to be honest. I was more interested in supporting the cause than I was the fit when I bought the shirt so I didn’t even try it on until I got home. They don’t have a women’s cut in that shirt either, so an XS in a men’s cut is really your only choice. Give the brand Junk Food a try if you are in to the graphic t-shirts. They have a great female cut t-shirt.

thanks for the informative reply!

yeah they only have a racer back vest in pink for the ladies and its not my style at all. i was more interested to see if the arm openings thing was meant to be like that, its also pretty slim, might be able to stretch that bit. I think if i go and change it to the small it will still not be a superb fit so i’ll stick with this one and see what i can do.

I’m a big big graphic t shirt addict. I like the fit of Junkfood t shirts and also the AA ones – they are the perfect fit for me, esp their tri blend t shirts as well as their regular ones. I was very sad when threadless switched to their own brand of t shirt because AA were my most loved.

If i find myself near an H&M with these t shirts (not all the stores near me do them) i might buy another but.. not sure..

anyway, thanks again for the info, nice to know its not a fault. i now have 3 NERD t shirts which all fit slightly oddly!

but yes, important to give to the cause too…

No problem. I noticed that the women’s choice’s in the H&M AIDS campaign are all a little bit “off.” No disrespect to Katy Perry, but a shirt with a stomach on it? Really?

You my friend are definitely not the only one who is particular about fit. I am totally the same way.

And thank you for visiting, hope to see you around here more often.

Hmm… If I could just get a fitted tee that was made for big busted girls that didn’t make us look giganto… I would be a happy camper. bespokeordie, here is your calling, invent a fitted tee for big busted women that is long enough (regular ones hit above belly button) and do not hang from our “god given gift” and make us look 50 feet wide. You do that, and you will be a rich man!

Okay… so I am your sister, who will, in fact, be making frequent trips…

My idea is a common plague… run with it… I am telling you, ask any big busted friend….
