Beams x Monocle Watches

    Being as how I really liked the Beams x Oakley Frogskins collaborative efforts, I have kept a close eye on Beams ever since. When I heard the concept behind the teaming of Beams with Monocle to create a watch I thought the results would be just as unique and cool. But, after seeing them I am a bit indifferent. A plastic submariner-inspired watch with military colorways sounded pretty interesting. Casio G-Shocks are everywhere these days and in my mind I kept visualizing a Black-Out Concept Rolex made of plastic in a matte green. It was to be the love child of a Casio G-Shock and a Rolex. The watches come in an olive green and brown colorway. To be honest I still like the watches although they do appear to be a tad bit “cheap” in quality. I think ceramic rather than plastic may have been a better choice, but to each his own.
