There is something about the spontaneousness and mystic of the Polaroid which made the resulting imagery so grimy and real. Recapturing this essence is something that it seems few are capable of doing well these days, Terry Richardson is probably the best in the business if you ask me. These photos from the forthcoming Andre for Louis Vuitton collection capture that same vibe. Louis Vuitton’s eyewear collection was launched not too long ago in November 2005 with the opening of their Champs Elysées store and it has come a long way through these last 5 years. The rumors had been around for a while that Louis Vuitton was going to work with Parisian grafitti artist turned entrepreneur Andre on a collection of some type, but no one really knew exactly what that entailed. The launch of a mini site dedicated to the Andre x Louis Vuitton Spring / Summer 2010 Eyewear Collection has made it official. With an actual Polaroid in hand, and access to the collection, Andre photographed these images of himself and his friends and colleagues at The Standard Hotel in NYC. Don’t these photos make you want to find a Polaroid camera, some film, and have a house party?
