Given today’s epic anti-climatic press conference and subsequent release of the iPad I felt the strong urge to punch the media machine that is Apple in the proverbial face. All of that hype for that? Really? I needed something cool related to Apple in order to restore my faith and subside my bitterness over the day’s happenings. I didn’t know this, but as of today Apple is the fourth largest company in the United States behind major industry titans like Exxon Mobile and General Electric. While scouring for such thought provoking intelligence I ran across this MacBook cover offering from Twelve South. The company states that they “Design accessories for Mac only. Period.” And, in conjunction with their namesake they release 12 accessories a year. The “BookBook” MacBook cover you see before you is one of those 12 for 2010. The cover is hand-made and each is a one-of-a-kind, hardback leather case designed exclusively for the MacBook and MacBook Pro. It is available in “Classic Black” or “Vibrant Red.” The hardback cover and spine provide solid protection from the rigors of the road while the vintage book design disguises MacBook for superior security. Let’s be honest, books aren’t exactly stolen very often these days.
