Homaira Opens on Melrose

A couple of weeks ago I was graciously invited to the grand opening of a very special boutique off of Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Why was it special you ask? One of my closest friends has been working day and night for months and months to open the doors to her very own boutique, but that was only just the beginning. Little did we all understand the magnitude of her venture. Diligently traveling back and forth overseas, late night conversations with foreign designers, and hundreds if not thousands of hours poured into design concepts and creation. Homaira was not just opening a store but launching her own brand under a label so eloquently titled after its namesake. Having lived in and around the Los Angeles area for most of my adult life I can tell you that there are few, if any boutiques on Melrose quite like Homaira. Every detail has been addressed. From colorful mosaic tiles which line the walls of the store’s interior, to the clean and simple New York studio shopping vibe that welcomes you as soon as you walk through the glass doors, to the plethora of one-of-a-kind creations that fill the store. The clothes are truly unique and while most stores simply import the same product, Homaira offers you something truly special. One hundred percent custom creations that you simply will not find anywhere else. If you are in the Los Angeles area or will be in the future you really owe it to yourself to stop in and look around. You will not be disappointed. And, for those of you who happen to live too far to travel, Homaira has got you covered. Look for the launch of their online presence in the not too distant future at http://www.shophomaira.com. Fellow friend and amazing photographer Walid Azami has provided some great images of a small sampling of this the inagural collection in store at Homaira right now.
