Burberry Day in NYC

Surprisingly no one wore Burberry Plaid to the Burberry Day event held at The New York Palace Hotel on May 28, 2009 in New York City. What was Burberry Day you ask? Presiding on top of a skyscraper high above the Big Apple, the 5ft-high letters spelling out “Burberry” were illuminated during the evening event to mark the official opening of the British brand’s new headquarters in New York City. The stateside location at 444 Madison Avenue mirrors their global headquarters in London, both of which were designed by Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s creative director. Hosted by Bailey and Angela Ahrendts, Burberry’s chief executive, over 300 guests attended including some of the city’s most stylish residents like Orlando Bloom, Blake Lively, Vanesa Fitzgerald, Carla Gugino, Claire Danes, Leigh Lezark, Helena Christensen, and more. My personal favoriate was none other than Emmanuelle Chriqui for no other reason than she is damn hot. It was a very NYC styled event with dark colors and layers. Definitely not my style, I’m feeling the neon thing, but to each his own.
