Diesel Zathan 772 Denim

For a long time I considered adding a “Diary” category to the website where I would share more about my personal life.  I was conflicted about how much of “me” I really wanted to share with all of you out there in World Wide Web.  I would have never guessed that it would be a pair of denim that would ultimately solidify my decision and compel me to write this inaugural post.  Whether you call them “jeans” or “denim,” we all wear it.  And, if you are like me there has always been that one pair that is fit you so well that you wear them over and over again.  Even though you wore them yesterday or the last time you saw a group of friends, you want to wear them again because you just feel so comfortable, so confident in them.  My Diesel Zathan’s were those jeans.  The 772 wash was a clean, crisp blue with a warm worn in look.  Torn just enough to give them some character, but still last me for what felt like a lifetime.  Not being a fan of tailoring in my younger years the back of the legs had been torn to shreds over time.  Yet, I persisted on wearing my Zathans.  I made sacrifiices to my personal style by slowly sagging the denim more and more.  I justified it by hiding my love for my slowly dying denim under the guise that they “are low rise, so they were supposed to sit low on the waist.”  Combined with some recent weight loss, I had to accept the agony of fashionable defeat and started looking for other denim alternatives.  You may note my post about the A.P.C. Rescue I picked up back in April of this year for example.  As much as I tried to find a new pair of jeans to fall in love with, I just never really felt that warm and fuzzy feeling about a single pair again.  So, what is a guy to do?  I watched eBay and patiently waited for the perfect pair of the now discontinued Diesel cut and colorway.  A couple of months later I found my jeans, authentic and in as near perfect condition as I could have hoped for.  You can see both the new and the old pair in the pictures below.  Oh, and don’t mind Mischa, she was inspecting the quality of the Italian denim.
