I know there is at least one friend out there that has a massive grin on his face as I reluctantly post this 1960′s throwback styled editorial featuring Abbey Clancy. Photographer Alasdair McLellan lensed the pictorial titled “A Bit of Liverpool” for the September 2010 issue of Love Magazine. The long bob with a fringe and sideways ponytail is what some men (Ahem, Mr. JDR.) dream about. There is something dark and just sexy about the “sex kitten” genre that permeates through the black and white. Maybe it is the cigarette? Maybe it is the dark eye makeup? Whatever it is, it just works.

Anja Rubik for Fendi F/W 2010

I am not the biggest fan of Fendi. Maybe it is the overabundance of Middle Eastern women wearing completely mismatched pieces or small Asian women carrying bags that are five times too large for them. But, when you combine one of my favorite fashion models in Anja Rubik with my main man Karl Lagerfeld behind the lens of a camera you get a Fendi ad campaign that even I can appreciate fresh for the Fall / Winter 2010 collection.

Alexa Chung is one of those people who just seems to have an ephemeral swagger. I’m not sure what it is about her look that makes you feel like her personality is shining through, but for some reason you just feel like that is the case. And, if you don’t, you should. Here is a look at a shoot of the actress with a cult-like following appropriately titled “Retro Modern” which appears in Vogue China’s July 2010 issue. Photographer Patrick Demarchelier was tapped to work his magic with the help of a cement corner and one black bar stool.

Megan Fox for Interview Magazine

Megan Fox stated that she did not like the orange-ish hue she took on in the Transformers films and that it was an emphatic requirement of Director Michael Bay. Obviously the two have had some bad media spats which all started when Fox blasted the Transformers director for relying on special effects rather than acting in the two Transformers films in an interview with “Entertainment Weekly.” Well, apparently the sexy little Fox has gone back to her pale roots in this high fashion shoot for the June/July cover of Interview Magazine. Photographed in pieces from Lanvin, Calvin Klein, Nina Ricci and others by Craig McDean, Megan dons a stern bob as she does a tango with her undressed doppelganger mannequin. (Can someone say innuendo? And, no usage of the word “doppelganger” does not lower my street cred.)

Cristina Tosio for Elle Croatia

This has to be one of the most eye pleasing photoshoots I have seen in a very long time. Cristina Tosio is scorching hot in this shoot for Elle Croatia’s June 2010 issue titled “Castaway” shot on what appears to be a very remote location by photographer Mario Sierra. Usually this is where I would attempt a witty segue into some fashionable dialogue, but at this point in the ridiculously sexy scale it becomes a rather futile effort. Days like this, the website is so worth it. “Very nice!” (In my best Borat voice.)

V Magazine “Where Were You…”

For V Magazine‘s 65th Issue they figured summer is a time for friends and put theirs to work asking them to their barely-there sea side snaps. The makeshift shoot titled “Where Were You… On The Beach?” features Miranda Kerr, Bar Refaeli, Raquel Zimmerman and even a topless Terry Richardson who answered the call. Definitely not your ordinary fashion feature, but in a way a better look at what these icons are actually wearing when their not getting paid to be shot.

As part of their “Journey of a Man’s Wardrobe” campaign, Todd Selby aka “The Selby” shot designer Verbal for Louis Vuitton. We get a detailed look at Verbal’s studio space in Tokyo, his favorite Louis Vuitton items and also some previews of what there is to come from his Ambush jewelry line, such as the “Eyeball” rings. Some of the sprinkles of Louis Vuitton of note throughout the shoot include the Chapka in leather and shearling, ”LV” Initiales belt in Damier canvas, Acetate sunglasses, Neo Sporty bag in Monogram Hexagone Canvas, hat and scarf in cashmere, and backpack in Monogram Macassar canvas just to name a few.

Caroline Winberg for Elle Italia

One of the things I love most about this shoot for Elle Italia’s April 2010 issue is that there is not an ounce of flashiness to it. Photographer David Burton captured Caroline Winberg in a unique and clear style without having to slap you in the face with it in a bold way. To me, it looks that much cooler because of it. Despite my utter disdain for the surge in popularity over recent years of the drop crotch and harem pants, the look as continued to stick around through Spring 2010 and is now molded here with the sporty trend we have been seeing as of late. Somehow the shoot titled “Urban Out Fitter” manages to cleverly take several shades of grey, tracksuit pants, and cottons paired with street elements, such as the classic trench coat and dark rimmed specs, and fuse it all together.

With an upscale hotel serving as the backdrop, the sensational Hana Soukupova does a “couture on the go” themed shoot for Tatler Russia’s May 2010 issue. Captured by photographer Arthur Elgort, Hana experiences the finer things in life as she dons pieces from Valentino, Dior and Chanel Haute Couture styled by Anya Ziourova.

Liv Tyler for G-Star Raw S/S 2010

If you can get past the striking visual similarities of her father, Liv Tyler is a beautiful girl and it should come as no suprise that she has been chosen to be the new face of G-Star Raw. These campaign images feature Liv wearing pieces from the Marc Newsom helmed brand’s forthcoming womens “Low-T” mini-collection and were shot by photographer Anton Corbijn. I don’t know about you guys and girls out there, but the name “G-Star Raw” always makes me think of urban and more hip-hop inspired culture. Yet here we are looking at well cut denim pieces that give almost a modern elegence without being too flashy or too revealing. And now that we are done with the business end of this post let me be the first to say that either their jeans are cut to make everyone’s butt look fantastic or Liv Tyler is in phenominal shape. Don’t let my opinion sway you, make your own decision.
