If you haven’t heard of Barbour, then you have been missing out on some pretty stylish and well built jackets. But, for those unacquainted of you, Barbour is an authentic British brand providing a wardrobe of clothes for country pursuits, country living and for those who simply love the country, while still maintaining the core values of its heritage, durability, fitness for purpose and attention to detail. Is it me, or do all corporate shticks sound the same at this point? If you want to see some pretty sick jackets that are super fresh I would advise you to take a look around for Japanese designer Tokihito Yoshida’s third collection with Barbour out right now. The company worked with Rockport to create a limited edition collection of footwear that use the brand’s waxed cotton fabrics, their heritage tartans, Barbour Hardware, and they’ve even added adiPRENE technology in the footbed to handle shock absorption.

Abbey Clancy for Love Magazine

I know there is at least one friend out there that has a massive grin on his face as I reluctantly post this 1960′s throwback styled editorial featuring Abbey Clancy. Photographer Alasdair McLellan lensed the pictorial titled “A Bit of Liverpool” for the September 2010 issue of Love Magazine. The long bob with a fringe and sideways ponytail is what some men (Ahem, Mr. JDR.) dream about. There is something dark and just sexy about the “sex kitten” genre that permeates through the black and white. Maybe it is the cigarette? Maybe it is the dark eye makeup? Whatever it is, it just works.

Although I have yet to master the wearing of a trench coat, I will be the first to admit the feat that has alluded my fashionable repertoire for so long is one I hope to accomplish in my future. This classic unconstructed double breasted trench coat by Thom Browne is so clean and well cut that it may actually catapult my epic failure to wear such a timeless piece into such monumental style proportions that I may even qualify as my own Glenn O’Brien one day. Take notes kids, you don’t need verbose branding and over-the-top design aethetic to get noticed.

This sexy little wrist candy offering from Timex is reminiscent of World War II-era aviation equipment and offers a rare blend of style and strength which gives you a rugged and timeless product for only $150 USD. The mililtary trend isn’t going anywhere and the next evolution of the blacked out watches we have seen for a couple of seasons now appears to be this hybrid style. Fashionable influences have crossed so many lines these days that it is really hard to tell when is and is not “streetwear.” It has more to do with how you wear something and your own level of confidence and demeanor than it has to do with what the piece actually is. Never heard of Passarella Death Squad before today? Well, don’t worry too much because neither had I. The London, England based brand was established in 2004 by Danny Broddle and Emilie Albisser. The clothing company claims to use on Japanese fabrics while manufacturing solely in London and Japan. Originally starting with graphic t-shirts, Passarella has branched out into a full line which includes leather jackets, shirts, denim, pants, and more for both men and women. So what do you do next? Team up with Casio on a custom limited edition matte black G-Shock DW-6900 timepiece with white accent buttons and a sex custom backlight.

I am not the biggest fan of Fendi. Maybe it is the overabundance of Middle Eastern women wearing completely mismatched pieces or small Asian women carrying bags that are five times too large for them. But, when you combine one of my favorite fashion models in Anja Rubik with my main man Karl Lagerfeld behind the lens of a camera you get a Fendi ad campaign that even I can appreciate fresh for the Fall / Winter 2010 collection.

Burberry Military Watch

Acquire Mag was recently blessed with this nifty little sneak peak at a forthcoming military watch by the growing Swiss watchmaking division of Burberry. Being an owner of a very nice 41mm bezel stainless steel Burberry watch already I can tell you that these watches are pretty spectacular. I wear mine daily and it has stood the test of time quite well. The latest offering from Burberry features a timeless black face design inspired by classic military field watches of years past and is perfectly complemented with a matching black canvas NATO-style strap.

Rag & Bone Leather Gym Bag

I wish I could take credit for writing this, but the pure sauciness of this factual blurb came compliments of Barneys Co-Op‘s writing team. But, when something is good, it is good right? “Rag & Bone founders and fashion neophytes (Nope, I have no idea what that means either.) Marcus Wainwright and David Neville had one very clear concept: to produce every day clothes that they and their friends would love to wear. Rag & Bone’s design style is based on 3 principles: the importance of quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail.” Now rather than continue to plagiarize I am going to leave you with my sophisticated take on this spiffy little gym bag. The soft brandy colored leather bag features a top zip, flat leather handles, exterior zipper pocket, and two snap-close pockets at its sides. And, of course, the industry standard fabric lined interior with side zipper pocket. Anyone want to give me credit for using the word “spiffy” in a sentence?
